According the legend, Lac Long Quan was married to Au Co who gave birth to a hundred eggs and hatched into a hundred sons. Later, in order to expand the country, to build a prosperous country, Lac Long troops sent 50 children to the sea, Au Co and 49 children to the mountains to clear the border. His elder son stayed here and became the King, named Hung King, the nation name was Van Lang, capital was Phong Chau (now is Viet Tri - Phu Tho).
To express our gratitude, the memory of the national father and mother Lac Long Quan and Au Co had a great contribution to build the foundation the Vietnam nation.
* At Lac Long Quan Temple on Sim Hill, the death anniversary Lac Long Quan was implemented in the tradition ritual. The rituals were in the solemnly to show the grateful gratitude of people to the ancestors.
In the sacred atmosphere, Secretary of Phu Tho Party Committee Hoang Dan Mac together with the incense offering delegation on behalf of the people of the whole country honored to offer incense, flowers and offerings to national father Lac Long Quan; expressed our gratitude and commemorate to him who create the foundation for the people of Vietnam is developing.
With the piety, Vietnamese people vowed to unite, promote the tradition of building up and safeguarding the country of our ancestors, to continue protect the nation and build Vietnam more and more firmly and strong.

* At the Au Co Mother Temple on Van Mountain, the delegation offered 100 cakes, 100 cone pieces, fruits and flowers, are offerings of 100 children to Au Co Mother to express the gratitude; and prayed mother bless the country more and more prosperous, people's life increasingly warm, happy...

This year, the death anniversary of the national father and mother Lac Long Quan and Au Co Mother was adjusted earlier 30 minutes than the year 2016 in order to ensure harmonious activities of the festival; and created the facility for visitors come back to offer incense and participate in those activities at the festival.
